Beautifully Broken

So many people tend to look back at who they once were.
Yes. Some people have pieces to their life that seems so hard to put back together.
Maybe it's a hurt, a gaping wound, a buried secret or maybe your past mistakes and failures are getting to you. Maybe it's a wound that was almost healed and something happened and that wound was cut opened again. (I am hoping that isn't too gruesome for you, but it happens).
Maybe you're wondering if the scars will ever vanish, fade, dim or disappear. Maybe you're wishing you would have never had to go through everything you did. Maybe you think you would be a totally better person if you never experienced heartache after heartache.
Can I ask you a question though? Do you really want everything to vanish? Like seriously. Think about it. If there would be no pain or scars, or even a past in your life, would you be super thrilled?! Before you say yes, let me just point this out.
A few things I've come to realize. (There are more, but this is enough for now)
1. God is in control of your life and He knows what He's doing.
2. God never leaves your side.
3. You learn lessons and you grow and mature. (Hopefully)!
4. You have the pleasure (I say pleasure, say what you want...it's not always a pleasure though.) of looking back and thanking God for what He took you through to make you who you are today.
5. Christ was broken for us. He paid the ultimate sacrifice for us. He gave His life.
Can you honestly say that you would be who you are today if you never faced trials, hardships, heartaches, brokenness and whatever all you have faced? (That's a rhetorical question by the way).
Don't get me wrong, everyone is different. I'm not saying EVERYONE is like this. But I do know there are some of us who are placed in this category. Yes, I am totally one of "us".
Some people can relate to this and some people can't. That's totally fine.
So, my point is, if you have broken pieces scattered here and there and you are trying to put them back together, I have one thing to say to you. Well, two words really. You can't. Ok so don't freak out! Just hear me out! Ok, so YOU can't but God can and will if you let Him. I think He specializes in repairing the brokenhearted.  You say what?! How? It's simple really. But it does require trust. You need to trust Him with your heart. I mean seriously, you can't really go wrong with trusting Him because He's the One who made you. (Just saying) Just give Him your wounds, your bruised and broken pieces, all your doubts, your questions, your secrets. You don't have to hide who you are. Why? Because you belong to someone greater than all that, than all your mistakes and failures. And then after all that, just rest in who He (Jesus) is.
