Don't Stop Searching For Your Beloved (Jesus)
So....It's been a while since I've blogged. Life happened. It's like you think you have a busy life and then all of a sudden you're twice as busy as before!! :) There are not enough hours in a day anymore to do everything!
But, I decided to take a minute to share what's on my heart today.
So what is on my heart?
A lot.
And now I can feel you staring at me. :)
Last weekend I had the privilege once again to do "Light Of Hope's" Prison Crusade. I went in as a singing team with my siblings and a few friends. And yes, we had an amazing time! We all left feeling so blessed. (I'm sure I can speak for the others on that.)
My Dad was the Evangelist in our group and the one message He preached was on the Shulamite woman in Song of Solomon.
I'm sure you all know the story there...
But if you don't, read Song of Solomon. It's a love story yes, but allegorically it pictures Israel as God's betrothed bride, and the church as the bride of Christ.
As human life finds it's highest fulfillment in the love of man and woman, so spiritual life finds it's highest fulfillment in the love of God for His people and Christ for His church.
My heart's desire is to be like the Shulamite woman. She was passionately in love with her beloved.
But then, the one night, after she was in bed, her beloved came knocking on her door. (Song of Solom Chapter 5) She longed to let him in! But she hesitated for a moment. Why? (Verse 3 .. I have taken off my robe; How can I put it on again? I have washed my feet; how can I defile them?) Maybe she didn't want to get her feet dirty...you can imagine whatever it you are imagining. :) But she hesitated for just a moment. One moment! But her love for him was so real that she got up and went to open the door. But when she got to the door and opened it, he was gone.
She called for him but there wasn't any answer because he wasn't there.

She called for him but there wasn't any answer because he wasn't there.
So what did she do? She went searching for him. She went out into the night searching for the love of her life. She met the guardsmen and asked them if they had seen her beloved. And what did they do? These people who she was to be able to trust and these people who were supposed to protect her beat her up and took her veil from her. But did she give up and quit searching for him? No! She kept right on going. She met the daughters of Jerusalem and asked them if they saw her beloved if they could tell him she was searching for him and that she loved him. But these ladies answered and said "Who do you think you are? Why would you think your beloved is more special than ours?" And no, they didn't help her either. But she kept on going and searching until she found him.
My hearts desire is to be like this Shulamite lady.
There are times I know in my own life that I've missed my Beloved. Jesus. He called but I didn't answer right away because I was comfortable with right where I was at and didn't want to move.
But the question is..when it looks like He's gone and you call out and you hear no reply, what do you do? Do you just give up and say "He's abandoned me!" Or do you go searching for Him? I know I've already been in the place of wondering if His love towards me is real. And questioning everything. (By the way, that is such a selfish thing to do)
So instead of questioning and wondering, go search for Him, your Beloved. Yes, trials may come, but don't stop there. People might talk (they always do) but don't stop and listen to them. Keep pressing on until you find your Beloved, because you WILL find Him. (Jeremiah 29:13 And you will seek Me and find me when you search for Me with your whole heart.)
So where ever you are in your life, don't ever quit searching for your beloved. You might be going through a rough time and you might think there is little hope, but there is Hope.
I'm here to tell you that it will be ok as long as you keep searching and as long as you keep your faith in Christ. Keep Him your focus, first and foremost.
